To The Family,
Your Dad, Francis, had become an e-mail friend to me after your Mom, my cousin Alice, passed away. I greatly enjoyed our exchange of jokes and political news on a regular basis.
We spoke once in a while on the phone. In fact, about 2 weeks before his passing we had spoken when I called him from Georgia. I was planning to stop by and see Tom at his restaurant and figured I'd better check to see if he'd be there. It was a good thing I called since Tom was not going to be available. We had a nice conversation and discussed his progress with the leukemia. He sounded wonderful. I had been away for the whole month of October and had gotten hundreds of e-mails. As I was clearing through them and deleting, I came across the message of his passing in late November. I was completely stunned.
I have spoken to Mary and forwarded a donation to Hunterdon Hospice today. I will always be grateful for your Dad's kindness and the graciousness shown to me by all of you when your Mom passed away. It meant a great deal to me and I will always remember how special it was.
However brief our contact was, I felt a beautiful connection with both your Mom and Dad that has added a positive force in my life.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Cousin Diana
