Obituary of Scott A. Thorsen
Scott A. Thorsen, 57, of Tannersville, Pennsylvania, passed away at his home atop Camelback Mountain, with his loved ones by his side on May 15th, 2024. Scott was raised in Washington, New Jersey and graduated from Warren Hills Regional High School in 1984. Scott was married to Doreen Thorsen and together raised two daughters Ashely and Rachel. Scott's daughters meant the world to him and he was the ultimate girl dad. Scott held many positions over the years from Director of Operations, to master carpenter, to lead engineer, but was most proud of owning his own business doing commercial carpentry services.
Scott was a doting father and always made sure his family came first. Scott loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating, camping, and swimming, and loved having his daughters with him every chance he had. Scott was also very proud to let everyone know that he raised not one but two Homecoming Queens at Pocono Mountain East High School. Scott was also a man of Christian faith and worshiped God with whom he now rests. A caring man at heart, Scott also served as a volunteer Firefighter in Tannersville for many years.
Scott will be forever missed by his parents Marie and Tom Thorsen, his daughters Ashely and Rachel, grandchildren Austin and Kaylee, his brother Steve and his wife Brenda, brother Chris and his wife Cathi, brother Doug and his wife Ruthann, and by his nieces and nephews: Allison, Doug, Mike, Marielle, Dylan, Jesse, Courtney, Sydney, David, and Tommy. Also surviving is Marcy Souls and his "Souls" brothers and sisters, Laurie, Jen, Doug, and Steven: nieces and nephews Ryan, Devon, Jimmy, Jessica, Ben, Sadie and Lilly.
Scott is predeceased by his Grandparents Alfred and Marie Maglia and Tom and Nina Thorsen, a niece Kristen Thorsen, nephew Matthew Thorsen, and by his cousin Brian Jensen.
Scott’s family would also like to give a special thanks to all of the people who helped to care for and support Scott throughout his battle with cancer, especially Dr. Sulgna De, beloved friend, Barry Thompson and Kayleen and the staff from Residential Home Services.
