Obituary of William Stanley Barber Sr.

William Stanley Barber Sr., age 71, of Clinton, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township. He was born September 14, 1938 in Goldsboro, NC. He was the son of the late Leroy S. and the late Dora (Stanford) Barber. Mr. Barber grew up in Newark and has been living in Clinton since 1963. He served in the Air Force from 1956-1963. He was a retired Lieutenant for the NJ Department of Corrections. He worked at Mountainview Correctional Facility in Annandale for 25 years.Mr. Barber was a member of the PBA, a member of the VFW Post #5119 of Glen Gardner, and American Legion Post #0152 of Newark. He was also a Charter member of the Clinton Rescue Squad and worked as a volunteer driver for the American Cancer Society. He is survived by his children: Thomas Hayward, Dora Lynne Deskins, Renee Woody and William Stanley Barber Jr.; Former wife, Reathella B. Barber; Brother: Leroy S. Barber; Grandchildren: Charlene, Shante, Thomas, Timothy, William, Aisha, Trevor and Hunter. He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Barber Hayward and brother, Robert J.
