Ron was an inspiring leader. His work ethic inspired me, and has stayed with me. I spent 1.5 years in his group, and he was always first in, last out of the building. He led our group with gentle touch, but the impression he has left on me is big. I am happy that I had a chance to associate with him, and learn from him. My condolences to the family.

Although I have worked with Ron across the miles I feel that we were friends. He made me feel that way! His witt and great humor, and willingness to listed and help get things done for us out here in the Iowa CDI office, was wonderful and I miss that interaction with him.
I have greatly appreciated the daily updates this past year and have prayed for the family to have courage and strength to get through this terrible ordeal. As we all realize, In God all things are possible, and Ron is at peace and in no pain now.
My sincere condolances to the entire family, and know that Ron was loved, and will be missed, by all that every were fortunate enough to know him.

There are only wonderful memories when I think of Ron. He is the best manager I ever had. Ron hired me as a fresh college graduate 12 years and set a great role model for me. He inspired me to be a Professional Engineer and a good citizen of the society. He loves his family very much for I remembered how early he would prepare to write Christmas letters every year with family pictures and updates of each family member. I really feel the joy and love he had for his family. I still kept his last one in 2007 at my desk, printed double-sided and all colorful. He began his letter as follow, "This past year has overflowed with the happiness and blessings of our ever expanding family..." Ron treated everyone likes a family member, very caring, loving and generous. His kindness and smiles had a strong presence in our life and our hearts. I know he won't forget the happiness and blessings he had on earth. Ron will be dearly missed. He is at a better place now and I pray that God's peace and healing be with his family and friends.
Ron, it's my great honor to know you and work for you.

Sometimes certain people touch our lives without even knowing it. Though I didn't have the opportunity to meet Ron, I do feel truly blessed to teach with his lovely sister, Rosanne, and, somehow, I do feel a special connection. I have a feeling it's just the kind of person Ron was. I can see Roseanne in his eyes and smile when I look at his picture, kind and warm, simply radiating goodness and love. I can only relate to the loss of Ron through numerous losses of loved ones which I've experienced in my life. Somehow God's love begins to heal our hearts over time, but it certainly isn't an easy journey. My deepest hearfelt sympathy is sent to Patty and the girls, (your Aunt Rosanne loves you all so much), and may God's love and the love you share with Ron and each other always be a comfort carrying you through each new day. With love and prayers, Shelley Battisto
My 6 year old daughter wanted me to read what I'm typing and wanted me to add her name and her brother's name too. She agrees that Ron looks a lot like Mrs. Scheck..."he just needs longer hair".
So, Love and prayers from Brielle and Evan Battisto too!

Ron will greatly missed. He was a special person who always looked for the best in people. Echoing Joe Vasta comments another BC classmate of ours, SOS forever. "Sons of Slums" was an ad hoc club we formed in high school named to kind of poke fun of all our modest roots and background. Ron did better than most staying touch with his high school chums including an attempt to put together a reunion a few years back. God Bless you Ron

I am extremely sorry for your family's loss. Mr Leon was my first coach I ever had. He helped instill a love for sports in me and reminded me to always have fun. As i grew up and continued in other sports besides soccer, I would occasionally see him at church. H would always come up to me with a smile and ask how I was doing in everything. He was one of the kindest people I know. I know that this is an extremely tough time to lose such a great man but I'm positive that he is in a better place now and looking down and watching over all of his friends and family.
With my deepest sorrows,
Clem Udovich

Goodbye Old Friend
I remember Ron from our high school days when he, Bruce Dalsanto and I were “Cuzzin’s” – the term taken from a popular DJ of the time - Bruce Morrow a.k.a. Cuzzin Brucie.
Ron & I were fast friends through high school and college. I spent many a day eating dinner with Ron, his sister Rose and his parents. Summers were spent around his pool and playing tennis at the local courts. I was never able to beat him.
Political correctness had not yet infiltrated our high school and most of the Italians in our class were good naturedly labeled “Sons of the Slums” by our History teacher. We responded by forming a group complete with a membership roster, buttons and I think a secret handshake.
I had an active social life in high school and college thanks to Ron. He was quite the ladies man back then and could always find me a blind date.
During the folk song craze, Ron, myself and others formed various singing groups. We performed at high schools, communion breakfasts- wherever and whenever we got a chance. Ron was the only one in the group who was not musically challenged. In fact I think he was the only one who could read music.
As we progressed through college, Ron, Mike Horan, Jack Tuohy and myself formed lasting friendships. I remember fondly the co-ed softball games with a wonderful group of gals and guys many of whom later married.
I don’t remember if that was how Ron & Patty met, but I do remember what a great couple they made. I was honored to be the Best Man at their wedding.
Over the years, the differing demands of family, career, geographical location and life in general reduced our times together but we never completely lost touch. Ron remembered my birthdays more than I remembered his. He never failed to send a Christmas card with pictures of his growing family. In later years it was accompanied by a letter reporting the significant events of the previous year.
When I didn’t get one this year, I attributed it to people in general sending out fewer cards this year. I should have known better.
My heart goes out to Patty and her family. Ron was a devoted husband, father and a wonderful friend.
Good bye old friend. My life is better for having known you. I will miss you terribly. God must have needed a good man in heaven.

Dearest Leone Family, I was deeply saddened to hear of your loss. During my days at Rutgers with Amy I had the honor and privilege of getting to know her family and the kind, wonderful heart of her father. One of my fondest memories of Mr. Leone was his toast at Amy's rehearsal dinner. His warm heart, sense of humor, and profound love and adoration for his children and wife radiated through his words and vibrant smile. May the God of comfort help you all during this difficult time and may the love of those around you help you through the days ahead. With deepest sympathy and love, Jennifer
