Obituary of William J. Averill

William J. Averill, age 95, of Union Twp., NJ died Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, Pa. Mr. Averill was born March 15, 1913 in New York City, NY the son of the late Henry and the late Mary (nee Bradley) Averill. He graduated with a BS degree from Manhattan College in 1935. Bill retired as a Deputy Chief Inspector from the NYPD in 1976. He resided in Union Twp., NJ for the past 15 years. He is survived by his Son: Chris Averill & his Wife, Mary of Union Twp., NJ, his Cherished Grandchildren: Kristen & her Husband, Doug, Megan & her Husband, Ben and Nancy & her Fianc, Ryan, his Great-Grandson, Douglas and his Brother, Edward Averill of Ocean, NJ. Visiting Hours will be on Friday, September 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 13th at 9:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 2 White Bridge Road, Pittstown, NJ 08867 #908-735-4024. The Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Middle Village, NY (Queens) following the Mass.
