Obituary of Dolores Elvira Sheppard

Dolores "Dolly" Elvira Sheppard, age 87, of Flemington NJ passed peacefully with her family by her side on Monday January 21st, 2019 at the Little Brook Nursing Home. Dolores was born July 24, 1931 in Elizabeth, NJ. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Clara (Robinsky) Gail. Her sister Claryse and brother-in-law Ken Doerr. On April 19, 1952 she joined hands with the love of her life and best friend of sixty-six years John Sheppard.

Raised in Union, NJ Dolly has been a resident of the Flemington area for the past thirty years. She went back to school at night and achieved an Associate Degree in Art which was a great accomplishment to her and her family. Dolly along with her husband John owned and operated Sheppard's Antiques. Throughout her career in the antique and art field Dolly received many awards and recognitions.

Dolly is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty-six years John, daughter Joni Sheppard and son-in-law John Kasarda of Port Murray; granddaughter Rebecca; niece Carole Doerr Allen and her husband Rich of Flemington. Also surviving are nieces and nephews from Pennsylvania

Relatives and friends may gather at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 State Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809 on Thursday January 24th from 5pm until 8pm and again Friday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday at St. Gertrude Cemetery, 53 Inman Avenue, Colonia NJ.
