Obituary of Mirta Rodriguez Vassallo

Mirta Rodriguez Vassallo "Lelita", 80, of Holland Twsp NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday April 14, 2018 at her home with her daughters by her side. Mirta was born in Florida, Uruguay and immigrated to the United States in 1977. Mirta was one of twelve children to the late Pablo and Dionisia Rodriguez. Mirta loved her new home country and was an extremely hard working woman. She was a self employed house keeper who worked endlessly to support her family. Mirta was a friend to many and was always there to help the people she loved. She loved the outdoors, gardening visiting the casino's and playing bingo with her friends at home. Most of all she loved her family and especially her grandchildren. Mirta was preceded in death by her husband , Antonio Vassallo who died in 2001. Mirta is survived by her 3 loving daughters, Marianella (Alejandro) Ramirez of Clinton NJ , Monica Almeida of Green Brook NJ and Laura (Michael) Panicaro of Holland Twsp NJ. She is also survived by the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Paul Anthony Almeida, Vanessa Almeida, Ignacio Ramirez, Olivia Ramirez, Victoria Panicaro and Andrew Panicaro. Services will take place with a visitation for friends and family at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 Rt 31 Clinton NJ (908)-735-7180 on Tuesday evening April 17, 2018 between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. Visitation at the funeral home will also take place on Wednesday April 18, 2018 between 8:30am and 9:30am followed by a 10:00am Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church 316 Old Allerton Road Annandale NJ. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Mirta's name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.donate3.cancer.org.
