Obituary of Virginia Bowles Smith

Virginia Bowles Smith, age 95, of Flemington, NJ formerly of Union Twp, NJ passed away on Thursday March 1, 2018 at the Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington NJ.  Virginia was born April 26, 1922 in Kearny, NJ. She is the daughter of the late William and the late Veronica (Morris) Bowles. 

 She graduated from Seton Hall University and Case Western University with a Master’s Degree in Library Science and worked as a Director of the Dover Delaware Library for many years. Virginia Smith was formerly of East Stroudsburg, PA, where she was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing golf.

 She is survived by her one sister: Rosemary Queenan of Wake Forest, NC;  one granddaughter Kathryn M Burns, Sister In Law, Judith Bowles of Woolwich Twp, NJ. and numerous nieces and nephews

 Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Edward Robert Smith, sister, Veronica Hill and brother William J. Bowles

 A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday March 8, 2018 at St. Catherine Of Siena Catholic Church, 142 Perryville Road, Hampton NJ 08827.  Her final resting place will be with her husband at the Milford Cemetery in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington NJ.
