Obituary of John M. O'Rourke

John M. O'Rourke, age 67, died Tuesday November 7th at the Denver Hospice Center in Denver Colorado after a two and a half year battle with Mesothelioma.  He was a native of New Jersey born September 19th 1950 to the late John and Margaret O'Rourke.

John grew up in Warren Township and graduated in 1968 from Watchung Hills Regional High School.  He enlisted in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. For over 30 years, he was a sheet metal worker.  He married Linda Ann O'Rourke and they were married for over 32 years before she preceded him in death in 2008.

John is survived by his two children: daughter Kelly and her husband Rob Hawthorne of Lakewood, Colorado;  son Patrick O'Rourke of Glen Gardner, New Jersey; sister Peggy O'Rourke of North Plainfield, New Jersey; and seven precious grandchildren. Luke, Claire, Erica and Madison Hawthorne; Kaitlyn, Emily and Grace O'Rourke.

​Family and friends may gather on ​Sunday, November 19th from 11:00am until 1:00pm, at the Martin Funeral Home,1761 State Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. Military Honors will be held at the conclusion of the gathering at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately.
