Obituary of Frances Cecilia Smith
Frances C. Smith, a longtime resident of Clinton, NJ passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the age of 92.
Frances was born in 1924 in High Bridge, NJ. She was incredibly devoted to her family, helping those in need, and the Catholic Church. Her greatest joy in life was sharing her unconditional love with her family and others. She loved to help children and was employed by the New Jersey Department of Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities. She worked as a supervisor at the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ for 25 years. After her retirement, she volunteered for 10 years at a childcare center for children suffering from cerebral palsy. Frances also received a special commendation at the age of 85 for being the oldest volunteer foster grandmother in Burlington County, NJ. She was a devout Catholic and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale, NJ during most of her life. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and painting. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
Frances married Frederick R. Smith, the only love of her life, on October 23, 1944. They shared 35 years of marriage together until his untimely death.
She leaves behind her beloved only child LeeAnn Kimberley Brinn and son-in-law David; as well as her grandchildren whom she adored, Tasha Pomparelli and her husband Thomas and their son Justin of Marlton, NJ; Ashley Brinn and her son Davey of Mt. Laurel, NJ; and Aimee Dahl and her husband, Tyler of Moorestown, NJ. She also leaves behind her dear brother, Frank Catanzaretti of Neshaminy Station, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, June 15, 2017 at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Church, 2 Whitebridge Rd., Pittstown, NJ with burial following at St. Mary's Cemetery in Clinton, NJ.
