Obituary of Rose Parks

Rose Wilma (Carroll) Parks, 82 of Lebanon Township passed away May 11, 2017 after a short illness. She was born July 4, 1934, in Chester, PA, however she considered Lebanon Township her home. She had a great love for her land and home. She was the daughter of Oliver and Rose (Kruger) Carroll. Rose is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years: George Parks, 2 sons: Michael Parks of Houston, TX, Timothy Parks (Cindy Parks) of Saylorsburg, PA; 2 daughters: Roseann (Parks) O'Byrne of Lebanon Township, Susan Parks of Denver CO; brother Timothy Carroll of Oviedo, FL; 5 grandchildren, Brendan O'Byrne, Courtney O'Byrne, Alexandria Parks, Dylan Parks, and Timothy Parks. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren. Rose's granddaughter Kimberly and son-in-law Joseph preceded her in death. After persevering in her college career while raising her family, Rose graduated summa cum laude and became a member of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi. She became welfare director of several municipalities and retired after 10 years. She will be missed dearly for her sarcastic humor, terrific conversations and endearing love for her family and friends.
