Obituary of Charles J. Rakay

Charles Joseph Rakay, age 85, died peacefully on March 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Rakay was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Aixa. He is survived by sons, Charles Jr and his wife Kathleen, William and loving mate Valerie Donnelly and daughters, Cindy White and husband Charles and Charlotte Rakay, He also leaves behind sister, Charlotte Smith, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charles was born in New York City, was a Veteran, having served ten years in the Air Force including tours of duty during the Korean War and enjoyed a successful career in business-to-business publishing. He was an accomplished cook and avid reader, who also enjoyed the game of golf and serving as an active member of his Homeowner’s Association. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ; interment will be private, www.martinfh.com
