Obituary of Frederick R. Johnson

Frederick R. Johnson, age 84, of Califon died Friday, July 22, 2016 at River Edge Rehab and Care Center of Raritan, NJ. Frederick was born April 30, 1932 in Jersey City, NJ. He is the son of the late George and the late Anna (Finkler) Johnson. He served in the Army during the Korean war from 1949 to 1952. He was employed by Cooperative Industries which later became Simmons Precision for over Forty-Five years, retiring in 1994. He was also a Police Special for over Thirty years with the Lebanon Twp Police. After retiring Fred worked at the Garden Center in the Clinton Wal-Mart for many years. He enjoyed wood working and fixing things around his home. He is survived by his wife of Sixty-Two years: Sylvia (Hollenbeck) Johnson , four daughters: Janice Kerr and her husband Floyd Jr. of Califon, NJ, Nancy Mountain and her husband Keith of Ocala, FL, Cynthia Marion and her husband Patrick of Bangor, PA. and Lynda Johnson and her fiancée Christopher Coles of High Bridge, NJ, and one son: Thomas Johnson and his wife Barbara of Bloomsburg, PA.; He is also survived by Twelve grandchildren and twenty-three and a half great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to gather on Tuesday July 26, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. The funeral will be held at10:00 am on Wednesday, July 27 at the funeral home. Interment will with military honors will follow at Rural Hill Cemetery, Readington Twp. NJ.
