Our thoughts and prayers are with you, but mostly our memories of times past when George was running the roads, grinning and enjoying Charlie playing some sport, or just laughing and standing in his kitchen. I worked with George during my time as a faculty member at Cook College in the 80s. George was smart, funny, and fundamentally a good man. I just heard about his passing. My condolences to his family. May his memory be a blessing.

In all the years we have worked together on your home, he was always, a happy face with a delightful attitude, The obituary, which is lovely , gave me more insight as to what an interesting, involved person he was, wish I had had more conversations with him! mY prayers are with you at this difficult time, I will see you at the service.

Jan, my sincere condolences to you, your kids, grandchild and the extended family. This must have been a terrible time for you. I'm sure George was hoping to spoil and teach Minna for many years. I had a good phone conversation with him last year and have thought many times about trying to get together - - stupid me for not acting. I did not know about the melanoma. Although he would not know it, George was a special "brother" for me at Kappa Sig. I still clearly remember the first time we met as freshmen in Sherrill Hall. I am planning to attend the Memorial Service.

Dear Jan, Katie and Charlie,
I want to extend my deepest condolences. My heart broke for you when I heard the devastating news of such a beloved father, grandfather, husband, and person. In the handful of times I had the pleasure of being around George, he always entertained and encouraged memorable and thought provoking conversations that left me inspired. I am humbled to have known him and to have had him be the warm father in law to my sister and grandfather to my niece. May he rest in piece and his memories be cherished by his family and those closest to him.

I sent you an e-mail as soon as I got notification from the church about George having left his body. You probably are not looking at e-mail, so I wanted to add something here. I am honored and blessed to have known you uncle. You were truly a blessing in my life and I will miss you. My condolences to everyone who knew and loved him.
I knew George from his participation in NJAES extension. I found him to be a gentleman who always took the high road. He was always concerned about the welfare of his fellow faculty members.
George was my mentor for all things in the floriculture world. I loved all his talks, trials, pictures, travelling to see greenhouses, and his tireless devotion to extension. He was a good friend and was always so friendly.
George, you will be missed.
I had the pleasure to know George for a little while here at Rutgers, and collaborated with him on some zinnia variety trials back in 2005. He was looking forward to retirement and building a house in the Carolinas at that time, if I recall correctly. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humor and a great laugh as well. He will be missed!
A wonderful colleague and a long time friend. George and I were graduate students together. His passing is a terrible shock and he will be missed by all who knew him, valued his counsel and delighted in his wit.
