Obituary of John George Wolfmayer, Jr.
John George Wolfmayer, Jr. died peacefully on June 24, 2015 surrounded by his loving family, he was 88 years old. John was born on January 21, 1927 to his parents, John & Helen Wolfmayer. John graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1946, where he was an outstanding athlete, participating in football, baseball and basketball. After high school he continued with sports by umpiring baseball and referee basketball. In 1951, he married Josephine Grare at the Salvation Army where they met and fell in love.
The Wolfmayer's resided in North Plainfield for 60 years before moving to Clinton in 2011 to be closer to their children. John worked at Howell Electric as an inspector in Plainfield for 35 years and retired in 1980.
Family was very important to John, who always enjoyed helping his family and spending time with them. He is survived by his wife, Josephine of 63 years, his daughter Sharon Miclette, twin sons, John and his wife Beth, Peter and his wife Ann. His eight grandchildren, Bryan, Kristy, Mindy, Matthew, Emily, Max, Conor and Lexi, and his loving four great grandchildren, Josephine, Gavin, Julianna and Nicole. He is also survived by his brother, Walter Garman. John is predeceased by Watson Garman, Florence Clevett, Charles and Robert Wolfmayer.
Family and friends will gather on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, New Jersey 08809. The service will follow at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
