Obituary of Marilyn Frankenbach

Marilyn Mackie Frankenbach (84) of Union Township, passed away on December 24, at home with family. Born in Newark and raised in Westfield, NJ, Marilyn lived in Fanwood, NJ for 45 years before moving to Hunterdon County in 2002. Marilyn was a graduate of Westfield Schools and attended Lasell College before graduating from Middlebury College. After graduation, she taught kindergarten in the Scotch-Plains Fanwood Schools prior to starting her family. Marilyn married Theodore Frankenbach in 1954. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed tennis and platform tennis and was a platform tennis instructor for many years. She was an avid jogger, won several medals in her age group. Marilyn was a long time member of the Fanwood Presbyterian Church, where she was a Deacon, served as an Elder and was very active with their food pantry. For the past 13 years, Marilyn was an active member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, where she also served as an Elder. Marilyn was a co-founder of a senior's luncheon club, which combined the resources of two churches in Fanwood-Scotch Plains. For many years she was a volunteer for Contact We Care and organized their volunteer activities. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Theodore Frankenbach, her sister, Joyce Anderson of Florida, four children: David (Jodi) Frankenbach of California; Marjorie (Rodger) Mills, of Lafayette; Linda (Raymond) Schenk of Delaware Township and Steven (Jennifer) Frankenbach, of West Amwell. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Tim (Anne) Mills and Katie Mills; Dani and Jake Schenk; Livvie, JT and Brendan Frankenbach. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on January 3rd, 2015 at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 2 Race Street, Pittstown, NJ 08867. Memorial tributes may be made to Bethlehem Presbyterian Church.
