Obituary of Margaret M Szkotnicki

Margaret M. Szkotnicki, 83, of Union Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025. Born on August 22, 1941, in Manhattan, NY, Margaret was the cherished daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred Ciccotelli.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Margaret was a homemaker and a passionate entrepreneur who operated Loving Hearts Gifts and Gallery from her home for over 35 years. She married the love of her life, Carroll Szkotnicki, on June 17, 1964, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family.

Margaret was a faithful and active member of South Ridge Community Church in Clinton, NJ, where she joyfully volunteered in the church nursery for many years. In her free time, she found happiness in puzzles, crafting, and creating memories with her family, particularly during the warm summer months.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Carroll; her devoted children, Sheryl Wortmann and her husband Tom, Lorraine Lenk and her husband Randy, and Stephan Szkotnicki; her brother, Bob Ciccotelli; her treasured grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, and Daniel; and her great-grandson, Lucas Lenk. She is predeceased by her siblings, Nancy, Rosie, Dorothy, Billy, and Anthony, as well as her "grand-cats," Bomber, Trixie, and Donna, who brought her much joy.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Margaret’s life on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. A funeral service, led by Pastor Nathan Tuckey, will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery in Quakertown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to South Ridge Community Church, a community that brought her great joy and solace throughout her life.

Margaret’s warm heart, creativity, and unwavering faith will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
