Obituary of Frances Carroll

Frances (nee Burke) Carroll, age 85, of Annandale, NJ, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the Bridgeway Care Center.  Born January 24, 1939, in Wilkes Barre, PA, Frances was the daughter of the late William Burke and Anna (nee Forestal) Burke.

Fran graduated from Cathedral Catholic High School located in Trenton, NJ in 1956, and went on to further her education earning her associate’s degree from Raritan Valley Community College. She worked as an AT&T supervisor for many years.

On April 28, 1962, married the love of her life, Thomas J. Carroll in Hamilton NJ.  Together they raised three children, Thomas, Anne and Meghan, who she adored.

Fran was a lifelong Mahjong player, longtime member of the Hunterdon Newcomer’s Club, enjoyed watching Jeopardy and spending quiet time quilting and reading. Throughout her life, Fran loved spending summers at the family cottage in Lake Carey, PA.  More than anything, Fran loved spending time with her family creating precious memories together either through family dinners or traveling the world.

Fran will be forever missed by her husband of 62 years, Tom; her son, Tom III and his wife Carol; her daughters, Anne Goodhue and her husband David, and Meghan Carroll; her sister Claire and husband Dick; her brothers-in-law, George Carroll and his wife Regina, and Robert Carroll and his wife Lois; her sister-in-law, Kathy and her husband Tom; and many nieces and nephews.

Fran is predeceased by her parents, William and Anna Burke; her four sisters, Mary, Regina, Ann, and Patricia; and sister-in-law, Mollye Carroll.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Fran's family on Thursday, August 29th, from 9:00AM to 10:30 AM at the Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Rt. 31 Clinton, NJ 08809. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Rd. Annandale, NJ 08809.
