Obituary of Deborah Jean Gaughan

Deborah Jean (nee Roche) Gaughan, age 68, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at home.  Born November 14, 1955 in Bridgeport, CT, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Jeanne (nee Sawdy) Roche.

Deborah graduated from Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington, NJ in 1973.  She went on to further her education earning her Bachelor's Degree at Douglass College in 1977. She worked as an administrative professional for ExxonMobil and Engineering in Clinton, NJ for thirty-eight years.

Deborah married the love of her life, David Gaughan, Sr., on August 26, 1978. Together they raised two children, David and Christina, who they adored.  She was blessed with three grandchildren, Mark, Hannah, and Jillian, who brought her great joy.

In her free time, Deborah liked gardening and traveling.  She especially enjoyed spending time at the New Jersey shore.  Most of all, she loved spending her time with her grandchildren, friends and family.  She will be forever missed.

Deborah is survived by her husband, David Gaughan Sr.; her son, David Gaughan Jr. and his wife Kirby Gaughan; her daughter, Christina Gaughan and her husband, Judson MacRae; her grandchildren, Mark, Hannah, and Jillian Gaughan; her sister, Pamela Hollan and her husband Bern; her nephews, Tyler and Brett Hollan; brothers, Bruce Roche and his wife Robin Lavierdere, and Chris Roche and his wife Anna.

Relatives and friends may visit with Deborah’s family on Saturday, May 11^th from 1:00 – 3:00 PM and again from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809.
