Obituary of Jean Ceil Hamorski

Jean Ceil (née Yob) Hamorski, of Lebanon, NJ, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, in Flemington, NJ. Born September 20, 1926, in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Yob and the late Mary (née Shimsky) Yob.

Jean was a graduate of the Techincal High School, located in Scranton, PA in 1944. She worked as a receptionist for several companies including AT&T, Tenda Brand, and Preferred Meals. Jean decided to reitre after many years, but only on the condition that she got to help take care of her grandchildren Tempe and Sean when they were young. Jean raised three children, Mary Beth, Paula, and John, who were her world. She was blessed with six grandchildren, who she took great joy in.

She was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary in Scranton, PA for over sixty years before becoming a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Clinton, NJ. In her free time, Jean enjoyed baking and cooking for her loved ones and spending time at local senior groups. Above all, Jean loved spending time and creating precious memories with her family.

Jean will be forever missed by her daughters, Mary Beth Hamorski, VMD. and her husband Jeffrey Salatiello, VMD. of Lebanon, NJ, Paula Chua and her husband Elias Chua, MD. of Wilmington, DE; son, John Holt and his fiancee Emily Schmitz of AZ; and her grandchildren, Tempe Salatiello, VMD, Sean Salatiello, Lauren Chua, Theresa Chua, Alexandra Chua, and Mark Chua.

Jean is predeceased by her parents, Mary and Joseph Yob; sister, Dorothy Hauser; and her brother, Robert Yob.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean's name may be made to The Open Cupboard Food Pantry in Clinton, NJ or to Family Promise of Hunterdon County Flemington, NJ.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Jean's family on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home located at 1761 Rt. 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church located at 316 Old Allerton Rd., Annandale, NJ 08801. Internment will be held privately by the family in Wilmington, DE.
