Obituary of Charles W. Williams, Jr.
Charles W. Williams, Jr. of Lebanon Township, NJ passed away peacefully in his home on March 12th, 2024. Born in Staten Island, NY to Charles Williams and Eleanor Grohman in 1952. Charles also lived in Florham Park, Red Bank, and Lancaster before settling in Hunterdon County in 2013.
Charles was a graduate of the College of Staten Island and worked as a Supervisor for the NYC Transit Authority repairing trains and buses – he could fix literally anything! During his career, he won multiple awards for his electronics expertise, including First Place in the American Public Transportation Association International Rail Rodeo in 1995 against public transportation providers from across the country.
He had numerous hobbies and enjoyed woodworking, flying model airplanes, communicating with CB radios, fishing, kayaking, and walking in the woods. He also loved creating music and played guitar, saxophone, clarinet, and keyboard, and was briefly a member of Silver Belles and Beaus.
He was predeceased by his sister Anne Marie Gabrielle in 2012 and is survived by his sister Charlene Lenning, of Tinton Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be affectionately remembered by many as "Uncle Chuck."
Memorial visitation will be held at Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ on Sunday, March 24th from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
