Obituary of Ronald Thomas Zak

Ronald Thomas Zak, aged 73, of Annandale, NJ passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Born December 22, 1950 in Passaic NJ, Ron grewup in Garfield, NJ and was the son of the late Walter and Julia Zak. He is survived by his wife Linda (née Norman), his only sister, Rosalie Hayes of Florida, his brothers-in-law Wayne, Stanley, Richard, David, and a few cousins.

Ron was a 1975 graduate of the Steven’s Institute of Technology, earning  BS and MBA degrees.

He began his career as a Mechanical Engineer at Curtiss Wright in NJ, and years later as a Nuclear Engineer, working for the State of NJ Environmental Protection Agency, located in Ewing, NJ. Ron frequently went to Oyster Creek, NJ to aid in the operations of the nuclear power plant. 

In 1984 Ron married the love of his life, Linda,  and they enjoyed a happy life together in Hunterdon County, NJ.

Ron enjoyed going to the NY Giants games and rooting for the Baltimore Orioles. He played contract bridge and obtained the rank of Bronze Life Master. He also had a membership in the Corvette Collectors Club as well as in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He volunteered for the Open Space Committee in Clinton, NJ,  preserving  farmland and trees. In his free time Ron looked forward to playing golf with his friends and traveling with Linda.

Ron was a member of Calvary Bible Church and served as an elder for several years there. His faith in and love for Christ was evident throughout his life.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Bible Church, 144 Readington Road, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889. A dessert reception will follow the service at the Church.

Any memorial flowers may be sent to Calvary Bible Church on Saturday morning at 11:30 am. Memorial donations may be made in Ron’s name to Calvary Bible Church, 144 Readington Road, Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889. (Note “For Missions”).
