Obituary of George Scott Gannon

George S. Gannon passed peacefully on Saturday October 14, 2023. He shared 70 years of love and strength with family. Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19th from 1pm - 3:30 pm. A short service will begin at 3:30.  lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation to your favorite charity. 

Born in October of 1953, George was one of four children to bless his parents George and Estelle. He was raised in Passaic, NJ, graduated from Passaic HS and then furthered his education at William Paterson College. He met Gayle Donato and they married in 1980. They started a family of their own, settling in Alexandria Twp, NJ. where he would live until 2020. George was a loving husband and devoted father. He worked hard in the newspaper business to give his family a good life. An avid follower of politics, George found solace in the daily insights provided by FOX Business news and all the reporters that he followed. He was an avid reader as well, staying informed about the world around him.

His unwavering love for his family was evident through his cherished moments spent at their home in Wildwood Crest and the serene retreat of Seapointe Village. George's nurturing spirit extended beyond his family to his home, where he meticulously cared for the house and tended to every corner of his yard, adorning it with vibrant flowers. George loved entertaining friends and family and enjoyed all the holidays, especially St. Patrick’s Day with friends around the table. Above all, George cherished the simple joy of sharing meals with loved ones, dining out with friends and fostering lasting memories. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves his wife Gayle Donato-Gannon of 42 years; his children Alana Gannon (Elizabeth Evans) and Michael Gannon; his sisters Maryanne Ziolkowski and Jane Gannon, and his beloved pups Lucky and Summer. His brother John and his parents passed before him.
