Gene was a terrific aviation enthusiast. He and I got a flight on a vintage WWII B-25 bomber several years ago. Gene told us he was in the last USAF squadron to fly this plane. He even brought his log book to try to talk himself into the copilot’s seat. As you can see from the attached picture we ended up in the nose of this plane, a virtual greenhouse where we could look down on all of Hunterdon County. Gene told me that was his favorite part of flying and it shows on his face.
