Hal grew up in Union City, and was a graduate of St. Anthony High School, Class of 1962. He spent over forty years performing various roles in the heathcare and pharmaceutical marketing industries.
Hal lived in multiple states throughout his life but moved to Clinton in 2016 so he could be near his family, including his twin granddaughters, Casey and Emily, with whom he loved spending as much of his time as possible.
An avid sports fan, Hal could often be found watching football on Sundays as he cheered on his beloved NY Giants. A self-proclaimed baseball junkie, Hal rarely missed a Yankees game and during the period that he lived in West Palm Beach, FL, Hal spent many nights taking in games at the minor league ballpark.
Hal translated his love of sports into helping kids in need. Over the years, Hal did volunteer work for both the Ed Block Courage Awards: https://edblock.org/ and Derek Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation: https://www.mlb.com/turn-2-foundation.
Hal is survived by his beloved son, Michael Krell and his wife Cathy; twin 9 year old granddaughters, Casey and Emily.
