Obituary of Sandra Dunleavy

Sandra (nee Soltis) Dunleavy, age 70, of Clinton, NJ, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at the Hunterdon Medical Center. Born May 17, 1953, in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Helen (nee Drzymala) Soltis and the late Edward Soltis.

Sandra was a 1971 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School and a 1975 graduate from Seton Hall University. Sandra went on to earn her master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University. Sandra's kind and compassionate nature led her to her career as a State of NJ Licensed Social Worker. Most recently, she worked as a social worker in Trenton, NJ, as a Quality Assurance Specialist, until her recent retirement.  

On September 6, 1980, Sandra married the love of her life, Patrick Dunleavy. Together they raised four children; Kristen, Daniel, Kyle, and Mathew.  Her family was her most cherished gift, especially her children, who she adored.

In Sandra's free time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening, rock concerts and Broadway Musical’s. She was also a voracious reader and genealogist. Sandra was a proud member of the National Down Syndrome Congress. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially at their beach house in Point Pleasant Beach.

Sandra will be forever missed by her loving husband, Patrick Dunleavy; daughter, Kristen, sons, Daniel and twins Kyle and Mathew; and brother, Donald.

Sandra is predeceased by her parents, Helen and Edward Soltis.

Visitation of friends and relatives will be held on Thursday July 6^th, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Route 31, Clinton NJ 08809. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, July 7^th at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. For further information please visit www.martinfh.com
