Obituary of Greg Wilson

Greg Wilson, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at his home in Lebanon Township, NJ. Born on September 8, 1940, in Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Ned Wilson and the late Grace Wilson.  

Greg graduated from Chatham High School, Class of 1958. After high school, Greg served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1958 until 1962. He entered St. Anslem Abbey in 1963, continued his education at Seton Hall University, earning his bachelor's degree. After beginning a career in teaching, Greg entered the family business, William Bal Corporation.

Greg married Dana Ghiselli, the love of his life, on December 28, 1968. Greg and Dana raised three children: Jessica, Sarah, and Jake.  They were also blessed with eight grandchildren whom he took great joy in.

Greg had many notable accomplishments, including St. Anselm Abbey in 1963, as well as being a recipient of Every Member a Minister Award in 2021. Greg was a volunteer of the Califon Fire Company and of the Social Ministry at St. John Neumann Church.

Greg was an avid reader.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, listening to music, and dancing especially with his wife Dana.  He loved to cook for his family. He loved being a part of the Social Ministry and serving those who suffer.  Most of all, he loved caring for his wife Dana and spending time with his precious family and friends.

Greg will be missed by his daughters, Jessica Donahue and her husband Jon, and Sarah Hunt and her husband Donny, son, Jake Wilson and his wife Mari; grandchildren, Grace, Molly, Ella, Cora, Wyatt, Delia, Ainsley, and Winnie; sisters, Anita Wilson, and Marilyn Golden and her husband Michael.

Greg is predeceased by his beloved wife, Dana Wilson (nee Ghiselli); brother, James Wilson; and parents, Ned Wilson, and Grace Wilson (nee Edmiston)

Relatives and friends may gather with Greg’s family on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Rt. 31, Clinton, NJ 08809.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. John Neumann Church, 398 County Road 513, Califon, NJ 07830.
