Obituary of John W. Flynn

John William Flynn, 74, of Quakertown, NJ, passed away on Monday October 24, 2022 at his residence. He was born on May 26, 1948, in Jersey City. He was the son of late Charles E. Flynn and Catherine Walsh Flynn.

John was a graduate of Chatham High School, Class of 1966. After high school, John joined the US Navy, where he fell in love with the ocean, he worked as an aviation mechanic during his service time. John would eventually take on the job of running the family restaurant, Flynn's Tavern in Chatham NJ. He would run the business with his family until 2006. After selling the business John started Quaker Memorial Work's, helping many families in Hunterdon county.

John was a member of the Florham Park American Legion and the Past Exalted Ruler of the Madison Elks Lodge 1465. John was also an avid golfer and devoted NJ Devils Fan.

John will be forever missed by his sons, Charles E. Flynn and his wife Christina and James T. Flynn and his wife Kellianne; sister, Maureen Varcardiponi; grandchildren, Bridget and Victoria; his companion Joni Perkins and he is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Kelly, Melisa and Eddie. John was predeceased by his sister, Kathleen Flynn.
