Obituary of Donna Lynne Christie

Donna Lynne Christie, 75, of Clinton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at her home. Donna was born on January 5, 1947, in New Brunswick, NJ, to the late Vincent and the late Marilyn (née Nisonoff) Tricarico.

Donna graduated from Hunterdon Central High School and then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education at Trenton State College, Class of 1968. Donna joined hands in marriage with James Christie, on September 14, 1968. Together they raised their two children, Jamie and Samantha in beautiful Clinton, a town that she loved.

Donna was an educator and had over a 40-year career, with the Bethlehem Township School District in Asbury, NJ. Her thirst for knowledge would help her, as she was a contestant of the game show, Jeopardy.

A Host Family for Rotary International, Donna welcomed other people’s children into her home and made them a part of the family. An excellent cook, no one ever left her table hungry. “Mangia, Mangia! Tutti a tavola!” 

Donna was Past President of the Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County, she also served as Chair for the club’s Scholarship Program and served in an advisory capacity to the committee until her passing.  While on summer breaks from teaching, Donna loved her time on LBI with the "Beach Council".

Donna is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Christie; daughter, Samantha Christopher; son Jamie Christie; brother, Dan Tricarico; grandchildren, Sarah, Patrick, Jac, and Fiona.

Donna was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Marilyn and her brother, Vincent.

All services will be held privately at this time by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's name may be made to The Italian American Heritage Club of Hunterdon County Scholarship Program
