Obituary of Kathleen Connolly Smolinski

Kathleen Connolly Smolinski, age 84, of Allentown, Pa. died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice Center in Allentown, Pa. Mrs. Smolinski was born March 23, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late James J. and the late Sabina Mary (Langenbach) Connolly. She resided in Hampton, NJ for most of her life until moving to Allentown, Pa. 8 years ago. Kathleen was a 1948 graduate of St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing, New York City. She worked as a Registered Nurse, Evening Supervisor, at St. Joseph's Hospital in New York, and was a Registered School Nurse for 25 years at the Hampton Elementary School until she retired in 1986. Kathleen was an active member of St. Ann's RC Church serving as a Trustee and member of the Altar Rosary Society. She was also an active member of the Board of Elections for Hampton Borough. She is survived by her two sons: Joseph J. Smolinski of Hampton NJ; and Dr. William J. Smolinski of Emmaus, PA, his wife Elise and her cherished grandchildren; William, Katharine, Elizabeth and Megan. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Frank J. Smolinski, Jr. in 1975 and her husband Frank J Smolinski in 2002. Kathleen is also predeceased by sisters Marie Dean and Virginia Riordan; and brothers, James, William and Eugene Connolly. There will be a Funeral Mass on Thursday, February 3rd at 11:00 am at St. Ann's RC Church, 30 Main Street in Hampton, NJ - #908-537-2221. Family & Friends are invited to meet directly at the church on Thursday morning. The Interment will take place at St. Ann's Cemetery on the church grounds immediately following the funeral mass.
