Obituary of Dolores May Galoppo
Dolores May (nee DeLuca) Galoppo, age 79, of Stewartsville, NJ, passed away at home, with her beloved family at her side, on Wednesday April 13, 2022. Dolores was born on July 25, 1942 at Margaret Hague Hospital located in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Arthur F. DeLuca and the late Louise R. DeLuca.
Dolores was a 1960 graduate of Emerson High School located in Union City, NJ. She married the love of her life, Louis A. Galoppo, in October 1966. After living in Union City, NJ, they moved to Whitehouse Station, NJ where they raised eight beautiful children. Dolores dedicated her life to being a full-time mom. She was an adoring wife, mother, aunt and a very proud grandmother to thirteen grandchildren. Dolores was an avid Mets fan and would often be found rooting them on, even through the roughest seasons…of which there were many. She enjoyed spending time with her sister Mary, brother-in-law Don and their friends, especially playing a good game of cards or in the bowling alley.
Dolores will be forever missed by her children, Louis Galoppo and his wife Lisa of Washington, NJ, Kim Rasile and her husband Michael of Pittstown, NJ, Gary Galoppo and his wife Teresa of Lopatcong, NJ, Stephen Galoppo and his wife Kellee of Morris Plains, NJ, Susan Marek and her husband David of Stewartsville, NJ, Debra Wellet and her husband Michael of Lebanon Township, NJ, Gregory Galoppo of Stewartsville, NJ, and Douglas Galoppo of NYC; grandchildren, Christopher Galoppo, Michael Rasile, Christopher Rasile, Alexis Galoppo, Rachael Galoppo, Denny Galoppo, Kenny Galoppo, Louie Galoppo, Sean Marek, Justin Marek, Courtney Wellet, Michael Wellet, and Danica Wellet; siblings, Arthur DeLuca and wife Arlene of North Carolina, Mary Welker and husband Donald of New Jersey, sister- in law Nancy Galoppo of Maryland; nieces and nephews, Tami Dorry, Cheryl Conklin, Paul DeLuca, Dawn Russo, Denise Russo, Michael Galoppo, David Galoppo, and Cathy Lugovoy.
Dolores is predeceased by her parents, Arther F. DeLuca and Louise R. DeLuca; the love of her life, her husband, Louis A. Galoppo.
The Galoppo family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses of Morristown Memorial Hospital Oncology Floor, as well as the nurses at Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice.
