Obituary of Joyce D Wyckoff
Joyce Diane Wyckoff, 91, passed away peacefully on April 11th, 2022 at the House of the Good Sheperd in Hackettstown, New Jersey. Joyce was born on December 27th, 1930 in Summit, New Jersey to loving parents Percy Francis Gray and Dora Madison Tiley Gray. After graduating from high school Joyce married her soulmate John T. Wyckoff on February 4th, 1949. Together Joyce and John raised two sons John Jr. and Jeffrey whom they adored. Throughout her life Joyce worked as a registered nurse at Falmouth Hospital in Falmouth, Massachusetts and at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey.
Throughout her life Joyce enjoyed traveling across the United States with her family and camping out under the stars. Joyce was an avid gardener and had quite the green thumb. She also considered herself a birder and enjoyed learning about the beautiful creatures that would fly to her bird feeders or those that she would see swooping through the forests. Joyce was a woman of devout Christian faith and was a member of both Ledgewood Baptist Church in Ledgewood, New Jersey and more recently the, First Church UCC in Sandwich, Massachusetts. In her spare time, especially during the cold months, Joyce enjoyed counted cross stitch and made many patchwork quilts on her own.
Joyce is predeceased by her husband John T. Wyckoff, Sr. and by her son John T. Wyckoff, Jr.
Joyce will be missed forever by her son Jeffrey Wyckoff and his wife Lisa, daughter-in-law Kathy Wyckoff, grandchildren Shane Wyckoff, Kyle Wyckoff, Hannah Wyckoff and Emma Zorsky, and by her great-granddaughter Amelia Zorsky.
In lieu of flowers donations in Joyce’s name may be made to Compassion International’s “Medical Assistance- Provide Medical Care for Children” program.
A Memorial Service for Joyce will be announced at a later date.
