Obituary of Patrick T Donnelly

Patrick T. Donnelly, 80, formerly of Belleville and North Arlington, NJ, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at the Rolling Hills Care Center. He was born on May 13, 1941 in Passaic, NJ, the son of the late Patrick and Rita Donnelly.

Patrick grew up in Passaic, NJ, and when his father died young, Patrick went to work at a very young age to help support his family. His work ethic would continue as he, along with his late wife Kathleen, raised their own family. Patrick served in the National Guard and had a long career with Coca-Cola in the trucking division out of Newark, NJ. 

Patrick was a family man who enjoyed taking many road trips in the family camper. They would visit 48 states in their travels as he played his favorite Doo-wop songs. Patrick had a love for animals and a passion for steam trains, he would build a large collection of Lionel Trains and his grandchildren would refer to him as Poppa Choo Choo.  

Patrick is survivied by his three children, sons Michael Donnelly and his wife Celeste and Patrick Donnelly and his wife Damaris; beloved daughter Katy Morello and her husband John; grandchildren, Kyle, Ryan, Kayla and Christine. He was predeceased by his loving wife Kathleen, parents Patrick and Rita and sister Betsy.

Gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 3, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. A service of remembrance will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Cremation will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Patrick's name, may be made to the Wild Life Conservation Society at www.wcs.org.
