I had the pleasure of working for Bob during my time at Rutgers. He was the best mentor I could have ever asked for, from showing me how to conduct myself as a professional to lending an ear when things in my personal life went awry, I could always count on Bob to steer me in the right direction. I will dearly miss catching live concerts, skiing, and just sitting down and hearing how he and his family is doing. My condolences to his family, rest in peace.

Bob was my tour guide to the Rutgers MSE program when I joined in 2019, with his office right next door to mine. He was a fountain of wisdom about Rutgers and the engineering community. He was passionate and took pride in his work. He will be missed dearly. -Ryan Sills

I met Bobby in 7th grade and we had remained dear friends for the past 40+ years. They say in life you should surround yourself with people who will lift you up, inspire you and motivate you to do your best, Bobby was one of those people who you wanted to always be around. Like me, he loved anything with a motor and fast. Many memories of us hanging out and working on our cars together. So grateful to have had him as a dear friend all of these years, you will certainly be missed. RIP my brother- Cory

37 years ago I had the greatest opportunity and the most amazing privilege of calling you uncle…you showed me how to shoot a basketball, hit a birdie in badminton, and how to make it down the bunny slope on my first try at snowboarding. So many memories come to mind that I never want to forget as I will never forget you uncle Bobby. Gone to soon and will never be forgotten…I love you Uncle Bobby ❤️❤️❤️

Bob was a really great guy to work with, and we became good friends in the MSE program at Rutgers. He was always very upbeat, and made good suggestions, and willing to help on any project. I’m really sorry he passed so young, and will keep him in my prayers. I’ll bet God had something important for him to do. I’m sure we will see him again!

It is often difficult to articulate the influence or impact that someone has had in your life or the appreciation you have that you were lucky enough to call that person a friend. I met Bobby many years ago when we were young and learned to respect him very early on. Bobby always had a thirst for knowledge, growth, and never stood idle. He played hard, worked hard and pushed everyone to do the same. He was a true leader, someone you looked up to and someone you enjoyed being around. But mostly a good friend and great person. RIP Bobby my friend.

Bob was a dear friend and a colleague at Rutgers MSE. I am at loss of words about his passing-it so early and so unexpected. Our deepest condolences to the Horvath family and his children.
He was an upright man with a great zest for life, a proud and loving father, a dedicated Rutgers alumnus and a genuinely humane person. I will cherish the memory of our conversations about life, family, technology, and such.
Rest in peace Bob. Hayal and I will miss you.
