Phil and I certainly had our ups and downs over the past 47 years, but we remained friends til the end. Our son Jeff was the catylist that kept us in touch. I am so comforted that we had a lengthy telephone conversation the day before you left. You will be in my heart forever and I am thankful for the friendship we shared. Your first wife, Joanne

Dad,
I will miss you so much. You were the best dad anyone could ever wish for. You did so much for all of us and it always came so naturally. You wanted us all to be happy and didn't care what it took to make it happen. If we were happy, you were happy.
You were an incredible roll model for me. I just wish I could have more time with you. I feel lost without you. I'll never forget all the wonderful times with you especially the one-on-one time we had a few months ago.
You will always be in my heart!! I love you!

Phil was one of the greatest people on the earth, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He would always help anybody in any situation. I'll never forget all the times he played with all the grandkids including myself, and I'll never forget him and I digging out the matchbox cars in the backyard. Phil was one of the best cousins a girl could ask for. He was very generous and cared so much for family. When our parents died, he could have forgotten all about us, but he didn't let that happen. I love him for that. We really got to know each other better. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Dianne, and his family. Take care and God Bless! To Phil, I know you are in a better place , and we will meet again someday!! I will love you always!

What I remember and admire most about Phil was his generosity. He constantly gave (frequently, more than he should) to his family and friends.
His loving devotion to his wife Dianne, his children and grandchildren was evident whenever we'd have a chat. He was proud of his children's accomplishments and delighted in visits from the grandchildren, spoiling them as only a grandparent can.
I have to believe that he's in a better place now, untethered to his oxygen supply, perfectly groomed and still routing for the Yankees
