Zena was the Simon and Garfunkel of my young adult life. She convinced me that I truly was not a rock, taught me to polka and savor good vodka. Although she encouraged me to listen to the sounds of silence, she modeled that the sounds of laughter were far more valuable. I treasure many tear-filled moments, laughing with pure and uninhibited delight, enjoying the wild antics of five children, unnumbered cats, dogs, and even a horse. Our family was blessed to live next door to Zena!
Zena was a neighbor, friend and mentor. Zena was kind, generous and added many fun, funny and memorable moments to life. She drove me (age 16) to Trenton to take my driving test; she had me pick cherries from the big cherry tree outside her garage; she encouraged me to ride the horse in her backyard and watched as he threw me off his back; and she was so proud of those Christmas trees planted in the backyard. Her voice still echoes with wisdom she frequently shared about "the prime of life." Thoughts, prayers and condolences to her five remarkable children.
I light a candle for my oldest FRIEND, who has gone to heaven and is at peace. I have known her all her life. She was just a week old when she came into my life. We have had joyful times and sad times. I miss her very much! GOD will take case of her. Love Nadie
Rec'd sad news few days ago. So sorry. We did get together when she was in Fl. some time ago & we had great time, good memories. Also at our pool in Jersey. Most gracious & friendly person, friend to all. The laugh & smile especially when she heard polka music. I know she is missed by family & friends. Our sympathy to you all.
I havew and cherish wonderful memories of her and her family from when we were young. I will forever remember her laughter, her love of family, her concern over her kid's welfare and her constant meddling too! But she always did it with love and everyone knew that. I will miss her dearly.

Zena was one of my very best friends since my childhood years. Actually she was like a younger sister to me. During my teenage years she would come to me looking for some advice on matters which she thought would be of help to her. Our families were very close so we saw each other frequently. When I got married our friendship remained as close as always. When my youngest daughter Barbara was born, I asked Zena if she would be her Godmother and she accepted. That made me very happy indeed, Our friendship remained strong to this day. I will miss this very special friend. I thank God for having Zena in my life. Eternal Memory!!
Zena was my godmother and I am glad that I never needed to understand what that meant since my Mom is till with me. Zena was always a special part of my life and a comfort. I somehow always knew that she was not just a family friend but that my life was important to her.
She raised wonderful children and through them has given an ongoing gift to this life.
I am most saddened and will always remember her as my god mother.
I have such fond memories of visiting all of you in what was then to my mind rural New Jersey. Zena always seemed in an up mood and the visits great fun. I know she will be missed by all who knew her.

We will miss Aunt Zena. What a wonderful Aunt. Always wanted pictures of us and our family. Never knew a stranger and loved her family unconditionally. Family get-togethers were more fun with Aunt Zena there! She is missed. Life will never be the same without her ... or because of her! How blessed we are to have such a beloved Aunt. Our sympathies and prayers are with all our cousins.
