Obituary of Debra S. Unger
Debra Sue Unger, 53, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, surrounded by family at her home after a three year battle with cancer. Born on May 11th, 1956 in Somerville, NJ she was raised in Manville, NJ and enjoyed life in High Bridge with her loving family for 25 years. She is the daughter of the late Michael Popadiuk and Florence Popadiuk of Whiting, NJ.
As a woman who brought laughter and smiles to everyone around, she will be most fondly remembered as the crossing guard near High Bridge schools, waving, smiling and guiding children; much like she continuously did as a youth athletic coach, a teacher's aide, a High Bridge Summer Recreation enthusiast, and most importantly, a compassionate mother of four.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Bill, and her children Sara, Emily, Keith and Allison. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Popadiuk of Newport News, VA, and sisters Linda Sena and Lydia Conway, both of Manville, NJ.
Debbie enjoyed music, nature, bowling and living life to the fullest. Her large extended family and the countless lives of those that she has influenced and touched will carry out the true essence of her loving, selfless and joyful spirit.
In celebration of her life, there will be a memorial gathering on Saturday, January 30th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Voorhees High School Auditorium, 256 County Road, 513, Glen Gardner, NJ 08826.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, NJ 08822.
