Obituary of Jeanette P. Sanders
Jeanette Pirie SandersBorn in Brooklyn, NY to Anne and Edward Pirie on March 27, 1935. She passed away on October 13, 2009 at the Hunterdon Medical Center with her loving husband and nephew at her side. She was the daughter of the late Edward George and the late Anne (nee Wallace) Pirie. She received a degree in Education from State University of New York at New Paltz on the Hudson River. Also, a masters degree from Hofstra University. For twelve years, she was a teacher at Roslyn Long Island and lived in Garden City Long Island.Jeanette enjoyed classical music and opera and sang in church choirs. She also greatly enjoyed gourmet food, cooking & baking and was accomplished at both. Jeanette and her husband enjoyed traveling and visited Great Brittan and France many times. Jeanette was a member of the Hunterdon Historical Society, the Civil War Roundtable of Eastern, Pa., the Friends Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum, the Eastern Star (Long Island, NY) and the Cokesbury United Methodist Church.She is survived by her loving Husband, Lew, her nephews Robert E. Pirie & his family & James S. Pirie & his family, and her Nieces; Carolyn Harbor & her family & Corrine Paramour & her family.The Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 17th from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ 08809. There will be a Funeral Service offered at 2:00 pm also on Saturday at the Funeral Home.
