Obituary of Harry S. McKane

Harry S. McKane, age 84, of Lebanon Twp., NJ died Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Hunterdon Care Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Mr. McKane was born September 7, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pa. the son of the late Harry C. and the late Jean (nee Spangler) McKane. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the United States Army from 1943 - 1945. Harry was in the 926th Signal Battalion and served in the European theater and in Normandy where he landed on Utah Beach. He resided in Lebanon Twp., NJ for the past 33 years and previous to that, he lived in West Nyack, NY and Lansdale, Pa. Mr. McKane was an Electrical Engineer and worked for AT&T in Basking Ridge, NJ and New York City for more than 40 years. He enjoyed skiing and traveling.Mr. McKane was pre-deceased by his beloved Wife: Lutoria "Tory" (nee Turner) in March 2009. He is survived by his Son, Scott McKane of Hillsborough, NJ, his Daughter, Tory Ladas of Grantville, Pa.., his Cherished Grandchildren, Sarah & Adam and his Sister, Jeanne Magda of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.There will be a Memorial Gathering on Wednesday, May 6th from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Memorial Service offered Wednesday night (May 6th) at 8:00 pm also at Funeral Home.
