Obituary of Peter Bruce Straub

Peter Bruce Straub, age 74, of Union Township, NJ died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at home. Mr. Straub was born January 29, 1934 in Irvington, NJ the son of the late Oscar and the late Anne (nee Morgan) Straub. Mr. Straub grew up in Millburn, NJ. He resided in Union Twp., NJ for the past 24 years and previous to that, he lived in Warren Township and Westfield, NJ. He Graduated Millburn High School in 1951. Peter then graduated Bucknell University in 1955 with a BS in Political Science & English and he was the Captain of Bucknell's golf team. He was an avid and accomplished golfer. Peter and his Father won the New Jersey Father-Son Tournament in 1964. Peter served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960 where he attained the rank of Captain. Mr. Straub served during peacetime and was stationed in occupied Japan. He was a Stock Broker and was employed by Paine Webber in Newark, NJ for many years before retiring. He is survived by his beloved Wife of 51 years: Virginia (nee McCully) Straub, two daughters: Holly McDonald & Her Husband: Frank of Clinton Township, NJ, Elizabeth Langemeier & Her Husband: Mark of Scribner, Nebraska and his Son: Peter Bruce Straub Jr. & His Wife: Renate of Mannheim, Germany. Additional survivors include his cherished Grandchildren; Alina, Sean, Andrew, Craig, Ryan, Caitlin, Tori and Brynn and his Sister: Norma Bruno of Palm Coast, Fla.There will be a Memorial Service on Wednesday, January 7th at 10:30 am at the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 2 Race Street, Pittstown, NJ.Memorial Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street - Suite #301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691-4183 or to the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, 2 Race Street, Pittstown, NJ 08867
