Obituary of Melva E. Surmann

Melva E. Surmann, age 98, of Branchburg, NJ died Monday, November 3, 2008 at the Rolling Hills Care Center in Clinton Township, NJ. Mrs. Surmann was born June 25, 1910 in Bound Brook, NJ the daughter of the late Edgar and the late Ida (nee VanPelt) Smith. She was an active and longtime member of the Millstone Reformed Church. Melva was a 1928 Graduate of Bound Brook High School and a 1933 Graduate of Somerset Hospital's School of Nursing. She resided in Annandale, NJ for 10 years and previous to that, she lived in Manville, NJ. She was as a Registered Nurse employed by American Cyanamid in Bound Brook, NJ for many years and in addition she worked as a Private Pay Nurse. She is survived by her Granddaughters; Susan and Deborha Nor of Branchburg, NJ, her Grandson, Michael Nor of Phillipsburg, NJ; her Great Grandchildren, Nicholas & Britnie Nor; and her Son-in-law, Robert Nor of Annandale, NJ. Melva was pre-deceased by her Daughter: Nancy Nor in 2003 and her Husband: Louis Surmann. There will be a Funeral Service on Thursday, November 6th at 10:00 am at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. Visiting Hours will also be on Thursday, November 6th from 9:00 am to the time of the Service. The Family is planning a Private Graveside Service at the Bound Brook Cemetery in Bound Brook, NJ to be held at their convenience.
