Obituary of Monica E. Batic-Leyva

Monica E. Batic-Leyva, age 42, of Clinton Township, NJ died Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ. Monica was born September 30, 1966 in Newark, NJ the daughter of Joseph and Jutta (nee Schlieker) Batic. She graduated Jonathon Dayton High School in Springfield, NJ in 1984 and then went on to graduate Wagner College in Staten Island with a BS in Education in 1988. She was a Special Education Teacher at Irvington High School for 18 years. Monica will be remembered mostly for being a devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Friend and Teacher. Monica enjoyed watching horror movies, Scooby Doo, and listening to music, especially Bob Marley. She was also extremely dedicated to educating Special Needs Children. She is survived by her beloved Husband of 7 years: Gerado, her cherished Daughter: Sophia and her cherished Son, Joseph. Additional survivors include; her Parents, Joseph & Jutta Batic of Springfield, NJ, her Brother Robert Batic & his Wife, Donna of Montville, NJ, her Niece, Erika, her Nephew, Cory and many devoted Friends. Visiting Hours will be on Sunday, November 2nd from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 3rd at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception RC Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ 08801 - #908-735-7319. Friends are invited to meet DIRECTLY at the Church on Monday morning. The Interment will immediately follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery on the Church grounds.
