Irene, I will always remember you. I still have the card you gave me about the simpler days and the racing bumper sticker. They are on my bulletin board. I always enjoyed our talks about our families and pets, and will never forget the days of feeding the cats and hiding the kittens in the window well. You had such a great heart. I will miss you. Rest in peace.

I worked with Irene while she was at MYCF. She was such a nice person. Our office were next to each other and we had a lot of nice chats about her family and mine. My deepest sympathy goes out to her loving family. May God keep you in his care.

I only met Irene once, while while the family visited her son Damon in New York. I could tell in those small minutes she cared deeply for both her sons.
My heart goes out to the family in these trying times. I wish you all peace.

I worked with Irene many years ago at Mountainview Correctional Facility, once known as Annandale Correctioanl facility. we shared the same office space area way back in 1980. Irene was one of the most nicest but simple persons i ever worked with. we had many laughs. strange, out of the blue i started to think about her this past month or so, could not get her out of my mind . . . kept wondering how she was doing. Life is truly too short and i am saddened to hear Irene has left us much too soon. My prayers will be with her. goodbye Irene, I will always remember the talks and laughter. By the way say Hi to Joanne for me.

I have admired Irene as a supervisor and person from the time I've met here in 1997 at DO#11. Her style of mentoring and her calm disposition made working with her pleasurable. I can truly say she was the most intelligent and personable person I ever worked with and for. I extend my deepest sympathy to the family and may your special memories be a comfort to you.

I worked with Irene from time to time at Tabby's Place and was always impressed, as I would tell her, with her efficiency. Her dedication to Tabby's was invaluable, and she will be greatly missed by the staff and especially by the kitties - I know they very much appreciated her kind attention.

Irene was the sweetest person I ever knew. She was always kind and she never complained. She was a hard worker and it was a pleasure to have known her and to work with her for the little bit of time I had the pleasure (not long enough). She was missed very much when she retired and she will be remembered by me always as one of the greatest, sweetest, and generous person I have met in my career.

What I admired most about Irene was her wisdom and the compassion she showed everyone. A woman whose strength was displayed with humility and virtue found in her patience. She will be missed dearly.

I will always remember the day Irene married my cousin Lou. She was not everyone's picture of a blushing, demure bride. She was strong, with a keen, biting wit, and had the courage to show it on her wedding day.

Irene was my first cousin-her Dad and my Dad were brothers. Growing up, our families visited each other frequently and we always had a great time. Irene took care of her husband and sons as well as her Dad when he needed her help. She told me that taking care of her Dad in his later years "was a privilege". What a remarkable woman! Irene was greatly loved and is sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Irene was my sister. As young adults, we enjoyed an unexpected argument over which of us, as a child, had felt the family responsibility of looking after the other one. I’ll also remember that Irene had the rare ability to apply keen objective insight. She was a sly observer to whom one could choose to listen carefully. But she could be tripped up by her strong emotions. She suffered the hurts of extreme shyness, but she was stubborn, and she made heroic efforts to be dutiful to her family and to others. She enjoyed simple pleasures. She was a listener. She was my favorite person to chat with about nothing in particular. I’ll miss her every day.

The memory I hold of a wonderful, caring, giving individual who would stand up to anyone if she felt she was in the right. She kept my time working with her both very, very rewarding and supplied me with memories of a strong individual who really cared. I will greatly miss her.

Memories are too numerous. Irene was my BEST FRIEND and she will always have a place in my heart no one will ever replace or touch. She was one of the most beautiful persons in this world - we never had a negative or harsh word between us - our exchanges were always out of love. She loved her family and pets - as we would say almost to a fault - our animals are and were a big part of our lives. Irene will never leave my heart.
