Obituary of Thomas H. Martin
Thomas H. Martin, age 80, of Bethlehem Twp., NJ died Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. Mr. Martin was born on June 3, 1927 in the Van Syckel Section of Union Twp., NJ. He was the Son of the late Joseph Van Syckel Martin and the late Ellen (nee Stevenson) Martin.
Mr. Martin served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 during World War II. Thomas was a Mason by trade and he enjoyed fishing, woodworking & gardening. He resided in his home, which he constructed, in Bethlehem Twp., NJ for the past 50 years. Thomas was a Life Member of the Pattenburg Volunteer Fire Company where he served as Chief from 1982 to 1986.
He is survived by his Daughter: Adrienne Hodulik & her Husband, Thomas of Bethlehem Twp., NJ, his Son: Thomas H. Martin Jr. & his Wife, Rosa of Basking Ridge, NJ and his Grandchildren; Justin, Jacqueline & Matthew. Additional survivors include; his Sister, Katharine Martin of Stafford Twp., NJ and his Brothers; Joseph V. Martin of Union Twp., NJ & Douglas D. Martin of Clinton Twp., NJ. He was pre-deceased by his beloved Wife: Marlene "Annie" in 2006 and his Brother, John "Jack" Martin in 1943
Visiting Hours will be on Thursday, June 5th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. There will be a Firemans Prayer Service offered on Thursday evening at 7:30 pm also at the Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will take place on Friday morning June 6th at 10:00 am at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Harrison officiating. The Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
