Obituary of Alexander Frankevich
Alexander "Mooney" Frankevich, age 84, of High Bridge passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township.
Mr. Frankevich was born January 1,1924 in High Bridge, NJ. He was the son of the late Chariton and the late Pauline (Rendel) Franchevich. He was a lifelong resident of High Bridge.
He served in the US Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945.
Mr. Frankevich worked for the Hunterdon Democrat Newspaper as a Composing Room Forman for over 30 years before retiring. He was responsible for the print layout of the newspaper.
He was an avid NY Giants and NY Yankee fan. He especially enjoyed feeding the animals, mostly the squirrels, from his front porch. He also liked having conversations with people who just might be passing by.
He is survived by his grandson: Erik and his wife Lauren Frankevich of High Bridge, NJ. He was predeceased by his beloved wife: Barbara Ann in 2000, his son, Alan in 2005 and daughter-in-law, Judith in 2001.
His brother, Nicholas and sister, Mary also died previously.
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday March 4th from 7-9 pm at Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31, Clinton, NJ. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 5th at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairmount Rural Cemetery, Tewksbury Twp. following the service.
