Obituary of Elizabeth Mae Roll

Elizabeth Mae Roll, age 76, of Milford (Holland Twp.) NJ, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at her home. Born on May 3, 1931 in Somerville, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Albert and the late Elsie (Coukell) Van Nest. She was a long time resident of High Bridge before moving to Milford in 1997. Mrs. Roll graduated from High Bridge High School in 1949. She attended the Somerset School of Nursing, graduating in 1952. She worked as a registered nurse at Somerset Hospital and Hunterdon Medical Center, where she was one of the Medical Centers first employees. She also worked for Lebanon Township Elementary School in Woodglen for 29 years as the school nurse. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of over 54 years: Robert Joseph Roll; two daughters: Susan Coeyman and her husband Ron of New Hope, PA; Patricia Demitroff and her husband Mark of Richland, NJ; her three grandchildren: Mackenzie, Jordan and Alexis. She is also survived by two brothers: Donald Van Nest of High Bridge, NJ and Robert Van Nest of NC; three sisters: Dorothy Nagie of Lebanon Township, NJ; Doris Tiger of Titusville, NJ and Lois Touroyan of Georgia. She was predeceased by her older sister: Marrian Case. Visiting hours will beon Saturday, January 5th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & from 7:00 to 9:00pm at the Martin Funeral Home, 1761 Route 31 in Clinton. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 6th at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Clinton following the service.
