Prayers and condolences to all the members of Joan's family. After reading her obit, I feel like I have contributed very little to this old world but my presence..I loved Joan like a sister and she was a classmate during all four years at NHRHS.
And yes, she was the famous NHRHS hockey goalie that only allowed one point scored against us during the entire Fall season of 1958. I played right inner for that year. Not all hockey fields were alike and some were quite rough which was the case at Hunterdon Central in Flemington. It mostly reminded me of a cow pasture. As chance would have it, the ball got past all of our team bumping its way down the field and just as it got to Joan, it hit a clump of dirt and flew right over Joan's stick...We forever called that lump a cow paddy. What a proud season for all of us, but for Joan most especially!!
She will be greatly missed by all, but she has surely earned her angel wings here on Earth.

We are deeply sorry for the loss of a LOVING WIFE, MOTHER and a DEAR FRIEND. We just received notice of Joan's passing. Words alone cannot express the feelings one has for such a Wonderful Young Lady. Whenever we got together, especially at Tony's Bistro with Joan and Lou. Joan always had that beautiful smile that would light up the room. We are forever great full for knowing such a beautiful lady. Joan is with God watching over us now. Mom, I can't believe you are gone, I have so many wonderful memories of you visiting me in New Orleans while I was there on business and you actually collected more beads than me!! I remember us eating lobster when I lived in Maine, and the times you visited me In San Diego, not only were you my mother, but you were my best friend. Thank you for all you have done for me over the years, My love for you will never end! I asked you to send me signs yesterday and wouldn't you know it, a beautiful butterfly landed right next to me on our patio outside...I know that was you! Rest in peace mom.
Mom, how can this be? I feel like just yesterday we watched you write Grandma’s obituary. I never thought the day would come. It’s pretty simple-you have NEVER let any of us down ever. Your love something immeasurable. We will continue to honor you and the amazing human being you were in every way we can. Our love for you and memories upon memories will carry us through. All I want to do is hear your voice and hug you tight. I am looking for all your signs. Rest easy, best friend. I love you.
