Obituary of Dennis R. Skorets
On September 9th, 2021 Dennis Skorets passed away suddenly at his home in Hampton, New Jersey.
Dennis was born June 10th, 1953 to Parent’s Jessie Watkins Skorets and Gilbert Skorets in Somerville, New Jersey. Dennis was a longtime resident of Hunterdon County and grew up admiring the outdoors. Dennis worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and was a member of the Union Local 825. When he wasn’t working, Dennis could be found out in the woods hunting wild game or tending to his lines at his favorite fishing spots. Dennis was also a fan and collector of antique cars, but most his prized possession was his 1946 Chevy pickup he named “Roxy.” If you couldn’t find him at home or in the woods, you could find Dennis down at the Glen Gardner VFW Hall, listening to his favorite playlist on the jukebox and shooting pool.
Dennis will be forever missed by his son, Justin Skorets and his wife Connie of Palmer, Pennsylvania, daughter, Jennifer Jamerson, brother, Donald R. Skorets and his wife Jennie of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, aunt, Edith Slaqus, niece, Brenda Skorets of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, nephew Donnie Skorets Jr. of Belvidere, New Jersey, niece, Lisa Schnier of Gardiner, New York, grandson Levi Skorets and his beloved cat Jimmy.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday September 13th, 2021 from 5pm until 7pm at Martin Funeral Home, located at 1761 Rt. 31 Clinton, New Jersey 08809. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday September 14th, 2021 at 11am at Martin Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Spruce Run Cemetery in Glen Gardner.
