Dear Jane,
Many Years ago you and Earl lived just "Off Campus" from Upsala College where I was a Married Student (and former U.S. Marine) and somehow (possibly through Bob Egan, Gettysburg Graduate 1965) was introduced to both of you, your Daughter Kristin and, of course your St. Bernard pooch.
My wife, at that time, Irene and I would frequently spend time over at your house, and Earl and I would go out on the street to play catch with a baseball for an hour or so.
Then there was the incident when somehow Kristen hit her head on something and her head started to bleed - so we all jumped in my car and I sped through Stop Signs and Traffic Lights and was pulled over by a cop - who, when I explained the situation, gave us a Police Escort to the Hospital E.R. - and thank God, all turned out well.
1971 was a long time ago but I still have fond memories of our relationship and will truly miss Earl.

Dear Jane and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time -- we will all miss Earle at the Bethlehem Township Seniors Club meetings AND, especially, his fine contribution for the Soups-On meeting in autumn -- he made one mean chicken noodle soup; it was delicious!. Like many of us at the Plainfield Curling Club, Earle was a great mentor and friend to me. He taught me the game of Curling with great patience, humor and wit, and I have many fond and funny memories of him. Earle was incredibly wise, generous, and fun! His dedication and love for the Sport of Curling was inspirational. A couple of years ago Earle invited me to join him, Mary Cognetta and Barb Benson for a Bonspiel at the Norfolk Curling Club in Connecticut. Besides the great fun we had, we had the rare opportunity to spend time with Tyler George, a member of the 2018 USA Gold Medal Curling Team. We received one-on-one lessons from him, and got to rub elbows and chat with in friendly, informal setting. I will never forget that amazing experience, and I will be eternally grateful to Earle for enabling it for me. I am attaching some pictures of us with Ty, and posing with his Gold Medal. My most heartfelt condolences to Earle’s family. Thank you for sharing him with us. We all share in your loss and grief.
Hi - it's Kristen (Earle's daughter). For those inquiring, we've decided to delay any celebration of life events until COVID-19 is better under control, and we can gather safely. That said, when the time is right, we would like to hold a service at Grace Lutheran Church (in Phillipsburg, NJ) and a party at the Plainfield Curling Club in his honor. We will be sure to let people know when plans are made. Thanks, everyone, for you thoughts, prayers, and kindness.
I know earle for 5 years from the grace Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg. .I'm going to miss him very much.
