Obituary of Louise P Mancino
Louise Mancino (June 18, 1940 – March 29, 2020)
Stockton, NJ – Louise Parker Mancino, née Louise Marie Parker, 79, a long-time resident of Stockton, New Jersey, died peacefully at her home in Stockton on Sunday, March 29, 2020.
Born on June 18, 1940, in Mandeville, Louisiana, Louise enjoyed a successful career in special education and administration, teaching a pilot program in special education in rural Kentucky in 1964-1965, and then teaching special education in Martinsville, Indiana, from 1965-1970. She then taught at Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) in New Haven, CT, and later served as Director of Education for the Elderly at Hillside Manor in Hartford, CT. After relocating to New Jersey with her family in 1982, she continued her career in special education at Green Brook Academy in Bound Brook, New Jersey, first as a teacher and eventually working her way to Director of Education, a position she held until her retirement in 2012.
Louise earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana College (now Southeastern Louisiana University) in 1962. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from Kean College in 1986, receiving her New Jersey public school supervisor’s certificate in 1987. She enjoyed traveling and lived in Louisiana, Indiana, Connecticut, and New Jersey, and enjoyed traveling often to the Washington, D.C. area to visit her two sons there.
Those who knew Louise will remember her for her kindness and her radiant smile. She loved sports, playing basketball in her youth, and loved watching college and pro football, especially her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Pat Mancino, of Stockton, NJ, son Frank Mancino and his wife Alysoun McLaughlin of Silver Spring, MD, and son William Mancino and his wife Christine Yu Mancino of Hinsdale, IL. She is also survived by her grandchildren Christopher and Sophia Mancino of Hinsdale, IL, step-grandchildren Catherine and Alaric Blumhagen of Silver Spring, MD, and her brother Floyd “Bobe” Parker and his wife Sybil Parker of Covington, Louisiana.
She was predeceased by her father, William Parker, her mother, Lutretia Davis Parker, her brothers Hezzie Parker, Clea Edward Parker, and Guy “Fuzzy” Parker, and by her sisters Myrtie Parker and Rita Parker Cornet.
